Teja of New Nallakunta handed over a shock defeat on Aditya who had just won a tournament. Aditya played very fast and paid the penalty for that. Sreyamsh defeated Kartik in another interesting game. Chaitanya defeated Nikhila. Chaitanya played the game with his own clock and looked jubiliant throughout the session. Meanwhile Pavani, Srinivas and Supraja had rigorous practicing sessions. At Secunderabad branch, Chanakya and Ritvik had slav defence practice. At Begumpet branch, Jatin was very lucky to escape with a draw against Vineeth. However Vineeth played brilliant till that point putting Jatin under severe pressure. However Jatin threw a trap in which Vineeth fell and the game ended in a Stalemate. Anirudh played few games with Satvik and Vineeth. Anirudh reproduced some moves in Sicilian Defence much to the amusement of the trainer.

Chanakya, Jatin and Vineeth, The top 3 of Samanvitha Chess Academy

Today's session at New Nallakunta, Hyderabad was quite interesting. The games were well fought. Sreyamsh who was out of form came out with a brilliant performance to outwit Teja, the No.4 player of the academy in a brilliant end game. In the other games, Aditya defeated Kausutbha, Pawan defeated Chaitanya, Nikhila defeated Karthik, Kaustubha attained a good position against Aditya but made some weak moves to lose the end game.In another blitz games played between these two, Aditya defeated Kaustubha 2-1.Supraja, Pavani and Srinivas played out some practice games. At AMSRI court of our Secunderabad Branch, Chanakya defeated Ritvik in a brilliant game. Chanakya developed King side attack and Ritvik defended the position excellently and came out with a counter attack. But Ritvik had to surrender the game to a brilliant move by Chanakya. The surprise guest to the game sessions was Mahathi, the ex student of our academy. At Begumpet, a round robin tournament was conducted. Four players were involved. Jatin, Kaushik, Vineeth and Chanakya. The ever cool boy, master Jatin won the tournament comfortably. But there were big upsets. The unrated Kaushik defeated both Vineeth and Chanakya to clink 2nd position. Incidentally, Kaushik is the cousin of Master Srikar Varadaraj, the ex student of our academy who recently held Vishy Anand to a draw in a simultaneous exhibition match at Hitex, Hyderabad.  The academy congratulates Kaushik for his superb performance. Anirudh and Satvik were involved in an exercise "Attack the piece on files, ranks and diagonals" which they did very effectively.

Jatin maintains his No.1 status

Mahendrakumar with No.1 Jatin
Master Vishnu Jatin maintained his No.1 position in the academy with 1620 points. There was no change in position no.2 and 3. Chanakya and Vineeth retained their 2nd and 3rd rank positions comfortably. Teja and Nikhila maintained their 4th and 5th positions respectively. There was no major upsets in this rating list. Ishaan, Kaushik and Karthik entered the A group.

Cool games during the practice sessions at Samanvitha Chess Academy

Chanakya, No.2 Seed of the Academy
Today's session at the Academy had some surprises. Pawan drew with Aditya. Teja lost to Chaitanya. Karthik and Teja won a few blitz games. At Secunderabad branch, there was an interesting game between Mr.Shivaramakrishna and Satwik where the latter lost the game. At Begumpet, Jatin defeated Ayush Sharma. The real surprise today was the game between Kaushik and Vineeth. Kaushik drew with Vineeth in an interesting game. At one stage, Kaushik was winning but ultimately Vineeth, the No.3 seed of the academy managed to draw the game. The game between Anirudh and Satvik was funny. The session missed Chanakya and Supraja who were busy preparing for Exams.
